Drawing Pictures - With Only Words?

A request that often confuses authors is when they are asked to paint a picture of their scene, or setting, or character, in their writing. When we speak of drawing, the first thought that comes to our head is that we must use some kind of tool, such as paint or pens, not realizing that words can be used to create an equally as vivid of picture.

In this class learners will vividly describe a place or character. By eliminating everything else that is going on in the scene, that happened before or afterwards, or any other distraction, the result will be a snapshot or still painting in words of the subject the author is describing.
