Point of View, often abbreviated as P.O.V., is the voice in which a story is told. In this class we will talk about what second person is and how it works.
All stories are told from someone, or something’s point of view. There are three ways of doing this, known as first, second, and third person.
In this class we will talk about second person point of view. This is the tricky one, because it aims to make the reader think the story is about them! Saying things like, “You go to the bookstore and find a magic book” can work really well – or really badly! We will also touch on how second person is use in books sucks as the Choose Your Own Adventure books. We will talk about what makes a second person viewpoint work, what is the best way to use it, and what kind of story it work best for.
By the end of this class, learners will have a grasp on what second person point of view is, and how to use it in their work.
